The fourth annual Qatar International Motor Show, which concludes tomorrow, has attracted a record-breaking 40,000 visitors during the first two days, it was announced yesterday.

The event, organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), q.media events and Fira Barcelona, is being held at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Entry is free. The timings are 4pm to 10pm.

As many as 42 different cars and motorcycle brands are being showcased at the show.

Volkswagen, Porsche, Bentley, Ford, Renault, Lamborghini, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Chevrolet, Cadillac, BMW, Mini, Maserati, Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and Bugatti are among the brands.

The show has witnessed a number of unveils. These include the BMW i8, described as the “sports car of the future”,  Renault’s 100% electric micro vehicle Twizy, the Mercedes-Benz Concept S-class Coupe and the new CLA 45 AMG four-door coupé, Volkswagen’s new Golf R, the new Audi A8 range and nanuk Quattro, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Porsche’s new compact SUV Macan and the 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan.
