For the first time in Qatar, Q-Tickets.com, in partnership with Doha Bank, is offering cinema goers the opportunity to buy tickets online to watch movies at the City Center and Villaggio cinemas.

The new online ticket booking portal will help cinegoers to avoid standing in queues for movie tickets, particularly at premieres that draw large crowds. Powered by Doha Bank’s e-commerce capabilities, Q-Tickets.com gives Qatar’s cinema-loving public the convenience and security of a safe online transaction.

“Q-Tickets.com is the first and only third-party movie ticketing facility in the entire GCC region and we are very excited to be able to bring this functionality to movie patrons in Qatar,” said Satya Kalyan Yerramsetti, co-founder and CEO of Q-Tickets.com After logging on, customers can choose their preferred movie, screen and show time, as well as their desired seats from a visual layout.

Ticket purchases can be completed via credit cards. On completion of the booking, the customer will receive a reservation code via SMS or e-mail.

They can then key in this reservation code at the cinema’s self-service kiosks, present it at the theatres or alternatively use it to collect tickets from representatives present at the venue, and then proceed to enter the halls.

Doha Bank, the payment partner for Q-Tickets, powers the e-commerce gateway.

Doha Bank Group CEO Dr R Seetharaman said: “We are proud to be associated with Q-Tickets.com and to provide them with access to Doha Bank’s secure payments gateway platform that will help realise their vision in delivering instant online ticketing solutions.”

Suresh Bajpai, head of Retail Banking at Doha Bank, said: “We are proud to be the first and only bank that offers Qatar’s cinema lovers, tickets to their favourite cinema theatres and shows, literally from the comfort of their home or office.”

Dr Tejinder Singh, co-founder and director of Q-Tickets.com, said: “The broader vision of the company is to eventually provide online and mobile ticketing solutions for all events, with plans to expand operations into the GCC.”
