The Central Municipal Council (CMC) is set to mark the upcoming National Sport Day with a variety of activities, including a football match between its members and some invited GCC sports stars.
The friendly match will be held next Tuesday aiming at setting an example for healthy life practices. It will be followed by honouring achievers for their efforts in the field.  
The events, scheduled to start at around 8am, include different activities for CMC members and staff with  their families. There will be a volleyball match, table tennis matches and basketball practices.
The council’s general secretariat has prepared special activities and games for children and will give them a number of gifts.
“Doha has become a world hub for international sports  and CMC would take the opportunity to mark the National Sport Day in such a practical spirit, promoting sports practice as a way of life,” the council said in a statement.
The council has urged all participants at its events to wear sport clothes.
Meanwhile, the Public Works Authority Ashghal is preparing to celebrate the National Sport Day by organising events for its employees and affiliated companies.
Ashghal’s sports events will take place in Ibn Sina School for Boys in Duhail.
The authority will be using the stadiums, arenas, and gymnasiums to organise various sports activities for children, men, and women.
