The outlet of a leading pharmacy in Musheireb was burgled on Saturday.
The incident comes close on the heels of the theft at the office of a prominent travel agency on B-Ring Road in the Najma area on Wednesday.
Sources said thieves broke into the pharmacy in the wee hours and escaped with the cash kept at the counter.
There is no information of any other loss.
Police are investigating the incident and the footage of the theft recorded by a camera installed at a neighbouring clinic has been collected by the investigators. The thieves were apparently wearing masks during the “operation”.
Meanwhile, community sources said there has been a rise in the number of thefts in several parts of the city, particularly incidents of windowpanes of parked vehicles being broken by miscreants, some of them in broad daylight.
Yesterday, a resident said that one of the rear side windows of his car was broken while it was parked in Al Sadd. A week earlier, a similar incident was reported from the same parking.
