The Chinese Cultural Festival will be launched today at Katara, the Culture Village, and will run until Saturday. |
The launch ceremony will be held at 8pm at Katara Drama Theatre with a performance of a Chinese orchestra. Open air performances will be held from 5pm until 10pm. The precincts of Katara have been adorned with decorations inspired by the Chinese traditional folklore and myths in preparation for the lion and dragon dance performances that will be held in different parts of Katara.
Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, director general of Katara, called upon the public to come and enjoy the cultural performances, which shed light on the land of emperors, scenery and rich history.
