Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation’s (Kahramaa) human resource department has received an ISO certification - ISO:9001/2008.

“The achievement has added a new dimension in Kahramaa’s recognition and appreciation across the world. The success from TUV SUD for quality management system is the outcome of the relentless efforts, dedicated attention and commendable team work among employees of the department,” said Kahramaa in a statement yesterday.

The ISO certification covers all sections of the human resources management department. Analytical and systematic evaluation found all procedures, instructions, and policies of the department in line with quality management system embodying customer-oriented approaches, leadership and employees’ participation and quality improvement among others. The security and safety procedures were also hailed. Besides, the department was also appreciated for complying with ISO:10015: 1999 for training, development and Qatarization initiatives.

Kahramaa endeavors to be an ISO certified organisation after completing the requirements of quality management systems at all departments. Work is in progress at remaining departments to achieve ISO certifications.

Appreciating the team for the success, Essa bin Hilal al-Kuwari, president, Kahramaa, said that the certification is the reflection of high quality and performance efficiency of Kahramaa employees.

“It should be a motive for us to keep on the high performance and excellence, characterising Kahramaa staff as one of our key values,” he added.

He lauded the ISO team at human resource and quality and continual improvement departments headed by their managers and all departments that contributed to this achievement.
