Doha International Airport (DIA) marked the special occasion of Qatar National Day with celebrations among passengers and employees.

HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti and Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar al-Baker toured the arrivals terminal to view the festivities.

During the celebrations, which were held from December 16 until yesterday, DIA employees distributed flags, pins and scarfs branded with the Qatari flag, to passengers.

Henna, Arabic coffee and traditional food packed in special boxes were also offered to passengers in the transit, departures and arrivals terminals.

At the departures terminals A and B, arrivals terminal and transit terminal, passengers were greeted with flowers, chocolates, Qatari flags and other giveaways that were tailormade to commemorate this honourable day in Qatar’s history. At the immigration clearance in the arrivals terminal, passengers were received with presents that reflected the nobility and pride of this day. Qatari flags were the main theme of the terminal and passengers expressed their joy and delight at such gestures.

Abdulaziz al-Mass, senior manager of public relations and communications at DIA, said: “Our activities today are only an expression of gratitude towards our country, community and everyone who has contributed to the prosperity of this nation.”
