Fath Al Kheir, the Qatari dhow that has embarked on a GCC tour, arrived yesterday at its first stop, the Yacht Club in As-Salimiyah, Kuwait.
The dhow will continue its journey to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and the UAE, before returning to Doha’s Katara beach on December 18 to take part in the Qatar National Day celebrations.
The dhow was received in Kuwait by a large crowd, including dignitaries and the media.
“This journey is a true embodiment of the heritage of our fathers and grandfathers. It is also a cultural message launched from Doha to all GCC countries, telling future generations the story of our hard-working forefathers,” said Katara director-general Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti.
He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Kuwaiti authorities in easing the entry procedures for the dhow and the great reception at the Yacht Club.
