A Qatar Airways 787 Dreamliner will be on static display at the 2013 Dubai Airshow from November 17 to 19, Boeing said yesterday.
Besides Qatar Airways, the Chicago-based plane manufacturer’s other regional customers including flydubai will have a 737-800 with Boeing Sky Interior and business class configuration on static display at the Dubai Airshow.
A 787 flight simulator at the Boeing booth will offer visitors a first-hand look and experience of the aircraft’s capabilities.
At this year’s Dubai Airshow, Boeing said it will showcase the company’s industry partnerships in the Middle East and highlight a broad lineup of defense and commercial products and services designed to meet the needs of Middle East customers.
“The Middle East region continues to be one of Boeing’s key global markets for both the commercial aviation and defense sectors,” said Jeffrey Johnson, president, Boeing Middle East.
“We have a long history in the region, and we continue to strengthen our relationships with our partners and customers to further develop the regional aerospace industry.”
On the defence side, Boeing platforms in service with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces that will be on display include a UAE Land Forces AH-64D Apache helicopter and UAE Air Force C-17 Globemaster III airlifter.
Also scheduled for static display are the MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor, P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and AH-6i reconnaissance and attack helicopter. In addition, an F-15E Strike Eagle flight simulator at the Boeing booth will demonstrate the aircraft’s unparalleled range, speed and persistence.
Boeing is co-sponsoring the Middle East Air Chiefs Conference, which will take place on November 16.
