500 students take part in Robot Olympiad

Some of the winning teams with officials at the 2013 Qatar National Robot Olympiad  which concluded at the Doha Exhibition Centre yesterday. More than 500 students took part in the  Olympiad. At the end of the contest,  six teams emerged the overall winners in the open and regular categories. The winning teams will be representing Qatar at the World Robot Olympiad scheduled to be held from November 15 to 17 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Doha event was held as part of the Go Robot programme sponsored by Maersk Oil Qatar and supported by College of the North Atlantic. Sheikh Faisal al-Thani, the deputy managing director of Maersk Oil in Qatar, thanked the Supreme Education Council and Qatar Petroleum for their support.
