Algerian artist Adel Abdessemed’s sculpture Coup de Tête (Head Butt), that was earlier installed on the Corniche, has been  moved to  Mathaf, the  Museum of Modern Arab Art, near Qatar Foundation’s Education City.

Speaking to Gulf Times, an official of the Qatar Museums Authority confirmed that the 5m-high sculpture will be installed at Mathaf today or tomorrow.

The sculpture  captures the moment when French football player Zinedine Zidane head-butted Italian player Marco Materazzi at the 2006 World Cup. Zidane, who was playing his last match, was given a red-card and sent off the field. Minutes later, Italy beat France, winning the tournament.
