Two killed in crashes

 

Two persons have been killed and eight others injured in two different road accidents at Al Khor and Rawdat Rashsid, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday.

The first accident took place at Al Khor on Wednesday morning when a taxi occupied by six persons overturned due to speeding and reckless driving. One of the passengers was killed while the others sustained injuries.

The second accident, at Rawdat Rashid road, happened when two vehicles crashed into each other killing one of the passengers and injuring the two drivers.

 

765 patients on Eid day

The emergency department at HMC received 765 cases on the third day of Eid.

Three of these were due to injuries from road accidents. Most other cases were due to stomach and digestive troubles resulting from over eating, especially sweets and fatty foods.

Besides, some patients were suffering from complications of diabetes.

The paediatric emergency departments at HMC handled around 1,743 cases of sick children during the same period. Some 1,077 were treated at Al Sadd Paediatric Emergency Centre (PEC), 413 cases at Al Rayyan PEC, 18 at Al Shammal, 215 at Al Matar and 20 at Al Daayen. Most cases were due to mild troubles of the upper respiratory tract, and stomach
complications.
