Ben 10, the award-winning animated series, entertained hundreds of children and their parents at the Landmark Mall yesterday.

Organised in co-operation with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), a wide range of entertainment programmes are being held in Landmark and other locations as part of the Eid al-Adha festivities.

Yesterday, a large number of citizens and expatriates turned up at Landmark from late afternoon to take part in the celebrations. In particular, families gathered in the Food Court to enjoy the programmes lined up for the Eid festivities.

Children were seen thoroughly enjoying the show as many of them had watched Ben 10 earlier on Cartoon Network.

A family of four from Philippines, who had reached the mall by 3pm, said they were eager to watch the show. “It is a great experience to catch the action live. Both my sons are great fans of the show and it is a great opportunity for them to watch some of the great characters in action. We may come back tomorrow to watch it once again,” said the father.

Ben 10, a popular animated series, tells the story of a boy who acquires a watch-like alien device, the Omnitrix, which allows him to turn into alien creatures. The series has been created by the group Man of Action and produced by Cartoon Network Studios.

The Ben 10 franchise won three Emmy Awards and collected more than $2bn in retail sales all over the world, selling more than 100mn toys worldwide.

Circus Land at Landmark Mall was another major attraction for children. The entire area was packed with children all through the day and many of them were seen enjoying rides in different parts of the entertainment zone. Moreover, special rides added for the occasion helped attract more children.

The Eid festivities at Landmark will continue until October 27 with various live shows and other programmes. The popular show, Smurfs, will also perform at the mall in the second half of the festival. Other highlights include Carnival Dixi and Carnival Samba. There are four shows daily at 5.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
