Al Jazeera English will broadcast a documentary titled The Mire at 2000 GMT on August 20 as part of Al Jazeera World.
The documentary shows how some third-generation Israelis are dissatisfied with their involuntary conscription experiences in the  army. It features interviews with youths who raise pertinent questions on the viability of occupation, the security complex and about the state of Israel itself. These interviews have not been aired on any Arab or foreign channel until now.
Many of them refuse to talk about the army operations they have participated in or hope to forget the “mire” they had found themselves in.
Meanwhile, some former conscripts and activists have founded an organisation against involuntary conscription, seeking to break the silence and admit the crimes committed by the occupation forces in Palestine, and fight the attempts to militarise the society.
In the documentary, the Al Jazeera camera records the dilemmas existing within the Israeli society through interviews with the youth and their experiences.
The documentary will also be aired in Arabic on the Al Jazeera news channel.
