Doha International Airport (DIA) has been honoured for its support in sponsoring the Ramadan Tent organised by the Airport Security Department and Airport Immigration Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
Patrick Muller, executive vice president, DIA, received the memento on behalf of Akbar al-Baker, chief executive officer, Qatar Airways.
The event was attended by key officials of including Colonel Issa Arar, director, airport security; Mohammed Mazrui, director of airport passports, in addition to airline representatives.
DIA had sponsored a week-long series of Suhoor evenings at the MoI Ramadan Tent, during which a range of cultural and community outreach activities were held. These included Islamic lectures held by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, and Garangao evenings.
A separate evening was held with special needs youth from Shafallah Centre, organised by Qatar Airways and attended by their leadership team, including Daniel Ho, chief financial officer; Nabeela Fakhri, vice president, human resources employee services; Mohsen al-Shayef, senior vice president, contracts and procurement; Dr Soha al-Bayat, head, medical services; Ibrahim al-Jassim, vice president, VIP aircraft projects.
“DIA is truly honoured to have been able to support the Ramadan initiatives by MoI, who are one of our most long-standing partners in the industry. Our collaboration marks our commitment to uphold the on-going partnership between DIA and MoI and we look forward to continuously enhancing this relationship year after year,” said al-Baker.
