He meeting was also attended by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and German Minister of  Environment Peter Altmire.

She also praised the positive role of the climate change (COP18) conference which was held in Doha late last year under the chairmanship of HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, president of the conference, where many positive results had been achieved through negotiations, especially the extension of the Kyoto Protocol on Climate Change as well as the completion of the Bali Action Plan.

The opening session was also attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Germany Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed al-Khulaifi, and members of the delegation accompanying al-Attiyah.
