Doha’s iconic commercial and residential hub, Barwa Commercial Avenue (BCA), is set to open its first offices and retail outlets by the third quarter of  this year and the  remaining office and retail units are expected to become operational in the last quarter,  a company statement said.

BCA has secured leasing agreements with a number of local, regional and international businesses. A total of 16,405 m² worth of office space has been leased to organisations such as  Qatar Islamic Insurance, Dicotech Qatar , Hub Business Centre (Al Manaa), Lizonne Trading and Contracting, FJ Trading  & Engineering, Al Shaibeh Establishment Trading, TUV SUD Middle East, Panorama Events & Media, Argon Global Trading & Contracting, AG Tech, Hamton International, Al Thulathi Trading Services & Contracting, Network Electrical, Modern Building Trading & Contracting, Intermodal Services, Qatar Neon, AL Kaun, Trading & Contracting, Al Shaghairi Trading & Contracting Electra. 

The New World Center has signed an MoU for around 27,000sqm of retail space and 228 apartments. A number of additional leasing agreements are expected to be announced in the next quarter of the year, the statement said.

Barwa Commercial Avenue chairman Saad al- Dosari said: “The holistic environment that we have envisioned for businesses through BCA will be a major asset in the community’s economic development. The development is already transforming the Industrial area into what is set to become Doha’s new commercial, residential and lifestyle destination.”

Considered one of the longest single project strip developments in the world, BCA stretches over 8.5km  in length and comprises five distinct yet interconnected zones, Jeera, Safwa, Joud Mall, Arkan and Sayer, containing a mix of residential, commercial and retail components, and an advanced infrastructure network.

The development includes 640 retail stores, a medical centre, entertainment venues, food and beverage outlets, 730 offices, 540 residential units and 12,000 parking spaces.
