HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met the head of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) Mohamed Bishr Ahmed and the accompanying delegation at his Emiri Diwan Office.

The Deputy Emir reaffirmed Qatar’s resolve to achieve peace and stability in Sudan for the good of Arab and Islamic nations.

He congratulated the Justice and Equality Movement’s chief for signing the final peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the movement and the positive results that emerged from the International Donor Conference for the Reconstruction and Development of Darfur, held recently in Doha.

For his part, Mohamed Bishr Ahmed expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent for their initiative and efforts to achieve peace in Sudan and reaching an agreement with the Sudanese parties as well as signing the final peace between the Sudanese government and the movement on the basis of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
