The St Regis Doha celebrated its first anniversary, a journey that has seen it reach several milestones and achieve many accomplishments.

The accomplishments for the hotel include the Gulf Connoisseur Best Luxury Hotel and Resort Middle East 2013 award and its success at the World Travel Awards in December 2012, when it was named the World’s Leading New Hotel. Earlier last year, the St Regis Doha was also named Qatar’s Leading New Hotel and the Middle East’s Leading New Hotel at the regional 2012 World Travel Awards.

By partnering with world-class brands to raise the bar in service, customer experience, hospitality and culinary offerings, the hotel offers guests and visitors a selection of restaurants and lounges  - including Astor Grill, the Lebanese and seafood restaurant Al Sultan Brahim, the Cantonese Hakkasan, and two Gordon Ramsay restaurants, one for fine-dining and a more casual alternative called Opal.

Besides, the hotel is home to the first Remède Spa in the Middle East. Also offered at the hotel is Jazz at Lincoln Center - the first venue outside New York - which brings global jazz musicians to Doha, making it a new niche destination.

General manager Tareq Derbas said the hotel will provide its standards in catering and events management for residents of Doha. “Our cuisine is enjoyed by those who come to try it and we are responding to their demands,” he said.

Kaarin Pfeffer, PR and communications manager, said: “(The launch of) our St Regis at Work and St Regis at Home catering service brings the full St Regis experience to your home or office and are individually designed. Our Michelin Star chef is happy to cook for a special occasion. Butlers, flowers, cars, crockery, silverware - we take care of every detail.”

While new hotels are popping up all around Doha as the city is progressively becoming a sought-after leisure, business and conference destination, Derbas says St Regis is welcoming the healthy competition.

“When we started, we hired 21 sales agents to seek out international corporate prospects. We don’t believe in taking others’ business. Instead, we find new potential markets. We hire staff to ensure that our guests feel at home and their needs are understood,” he said.

Omar Hussain Alfardan, president and CEO of the Alfardan Group, said: “The St Regis Doha has perfectly complemented the Alfardan Group’s steadfast commitment to service excellence and quality in line with our efforts to realise the vision of HH the Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and HH the Heir Apparent, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, to position the country as one of the most exciting and vibrant destinations for business and leisure.”

While the St Regis hotel and resort brand exists in over 30 world locations, the group has revealed that St Regis hotels will be set up in Abu Dhabi, Amman, Cairo, Dubai and Mauritius later this year.
