The Qatar Real Estate Summit will be held alongside Cityscape Qatar 2013 from May 27-29 at the Doha Exhibition Centre.

Being held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the event will define strategies for capitalising on opportunities available in Qatar in hopes of attracting international companies wishing to participate in development prospects.

“Hosting the Qatar Real Estate Summit for the second consecutive year reflects the confidence and optimism of the international business community in Qatar. This year the summit will offer a unique opportunity for all market players to work on industry-based solutions and energise the local real estate market,” said Iman Eissa, conference producer, Informa Exhibitions.

The two-day Summit will provide delegates with a well-rounded analysis of Qatar’s financial and real estate markets, including the economic outlook, government priorities, upcoming projects and major opportunities.  The Summit will host over 150 local and international senior investors and real estate developers and keynote speakers including Abdulla Al Subaie, board member and Group CEO, Barwa Real Estate and managing director of Qatar Rail; Dr Bassim Halaby, executive management, Al Wa’ab City and CEO, Benchmark International; Jochen Schaefer-Suren, Partner Head of Hotels & Leisure, Internos Global Investors; Robert Musgrove, CEO, Qatar International Court and Dispute
Resolution Centre.

“Having been based in the Middle East for many years, I have witnessed the continued development of the Qatari real estate sector and can foresee the opportunities for global real estate development firms to invest in Qatar. It’s an honour for me to be one of the speakers at this year’s summit that will address the challenges related to this rapidly growing sector; the knowledge gained through participation will prepare businesses to develop, finance and manage lucrative projects across Qatar’s expanding landscape and convert emerging opportunities in the growing Qatari market into high investment values,” said Kareem Shamma, CEO Doha Festival City.

A Retail Masterclass will be offered to provide mall developers, operators and investors with the knowledge they need to gain a competitive edge as well as understanding what is the best mall development format for the Qatari market, also including how to secure the best locations and tips to building mall loyalty and maximise revenues through the F&B space mix.

Guest speakers include Malik Awan, general manager, Ezdan Shopping Malls; and Fadi El Kik, general manager, business development, UDC, Qatar.
