Qatar’s embassies in several countries held special reception to celebrate the country’s National Day.
In Abu Dhabi Qatar’s Ambassador Abdullah bin Mohamed al-Othman, who is the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, hosted a reception ceremony attended by Adviser to the UAE President Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan al-Nahyan, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa al-Nahyan, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan, Minister of State Dr Maitha al-Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Butti al-Hamed, Sheikh Faisal bin Sultan al-Qassimi, Shaikh Fahim bin Sultan al-Qasimi, Chairman of Advisory Council Abdulla bin Mohammed al-Masaood, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security and Military Affairs Fares Mohamed al-Mazroui, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and UAE Special Envoy for Energy and Climate Change Dr Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber, governor of Central Bank of the UAE Sultan bin Nasser al-Suwaidi, member of the Executive Council Dr Mugheer al-Khaili and the Religious Adviser to the UAE President Ali al-Hashimi.
The ceremony was also attended by a large number of senior officials, civilian and military dignitaries and heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions.  
Qatari students who study in the military and police colleges in the UAE and a number of representatives of various media in the country also attended the ceremony.
In Muscat Qatar’s Ambassador Abdullah bin Mohamed al-Khater held a reception attended by a number of the Ruling Family members in addition to a number of ministers, State and Advisory councils’ members, senior army and police officers, foreign ministry officials, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Oman as well as  a number of businessmen and economic figures in the Sultanate.  
In Baku Qatar’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad al-Thani held a reception on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
The function was attended by the Azeri Education Minister Misir Mardanov representing the government in addition to a number of parliament members, ministries’ representatives, ambassadors and members of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Azerbaijan, scholars and businessmen.
In Monrovia Acting Charge d’Affaires at Qatar embassy in Liberia Abdullah Mahdi al-Yami held a reception attended by the Liberian foreign minister and a number of heads of diplomatic and consular missions accredited to Liberia, as well as representatives of international organisations.
In Algiers Qatar’s Ambassador to Algeria Abdullah bin Nasser Abdullah al-Humaidi hosted a reception ceremony on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day.
The ceremony was attended by Algerian Industry and Investment Promotion Minister Cherif Rahmani, Religious Affairs and Endowments Minister Bouabdellah Ghoulamallah, Adviser at the Algerian Presidency Dr Saad Aldeen NewiWat, leader of the Algerian Movement for the Society of Peace (MSP) Abu Jarra Sultani, leader of the Algerian Renaissance (Ennahda) Movement Fatah Rabei and a number ambassadors accredited to Algeria and members of the diplomatic corps in addition to a large number of businessmen, media people, artists, intellectuals and scientists.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Algeria’s Industry and Investment Promotion Minister Cherif Rahmani confirmed that Qatar is a strategic partner of Algeria and its voice is heard in the world and presented at international forums, praising the role of its wise leadership in establishing stability in several regions of the world.
