Clinton’s silence on Israeli crimes

Dear Sir,

Democratic leader and former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton has formally entered the 2016 race for the White House in a bid to become the first woman president of America.
Hillary Clinton had run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008 but lost to Barack Obama.
She is unlikely to face any stiff competition from her own party this time but Republicans have been unrelenting in their attacks on her and that will only increase as election nears. She will also have to find a convincing vision for America that will capture the imagination of voters.
Mrs Clinton has already had the backing of incumbent president Obama, who told a news conference at the Summit of the Americas in Panama recently that she would make an “excellent president”. And her successor in the post of secretary of state, John Kerry, called her a “good friend”, telling a television programme that she “did a terrific job of rebuilding alliances that had been shredded over the course of the prior years”.
But the attacks from the Republicans have already begun. Republican presidential contender Rand Paul criticised her for her handling of the September 2012 attack on the US diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in which the US ambassador was among those killed. He also said that questions remained about funds received by a charity set up by the Clintons. Jeb Bush, former Florida governor and brother of George W Bush who is also considering whether to stand as a Republican candidate, tweeted: “We must do better than Hillary.”
Mrs Clinton has never criticised Jewish military attacks on besieged Palestinians even after she has become free from duties as state secretary when she could have expressed her opinion as a free individual.
There is no hope now also that she will support the Palestine cause against the wishes of Israel and powerful Jewish organisations.
