An earthmover clears snow from the historic Mughal Road that connects Poonch and Shopian of Jammu and Kashmir in Shopian yesterday. The road was closed hours after it was opened for traffic on Sunday. It was originally built by Mughal emperors and remained closed for centuries. It was rebuilt in 2005 as another road link between the landlocked Kashmir Valley and the rest of India. During winter, heavy snowfall forces its closure.
