Three major performances of two popular bands and “pop star princess” Sarah Geronimo will rock thousands of Filipino and other expatriates in Qatar in the next two months.

For the “Oktoberfest” celebration, the “Razorback” band will perform at the Sealine beach resort in Mesaieed on October 10 together with other local Filipino bands and local dance groups.

Besides the shows, organisers will also hold bazaars while the Philippine embassy will continue to conduct its voters’ registration at the venue.

Other attached government agencies are also expected to offer services and assistance to Filipino expatriates who may want to inquire, avail or seek help regarding their social security accounts, and loans (salary and house).

Organisers said they will provide free rides going to Mesaieed at different timings. Buses will be stationed in three locations: Ramada area, near the Family Food Centre at airport road and Al Attiya in Industrial area.

On the same day, the “Parokya ni Edgar” band will also perform live at the Doha Marriot open air together with singer-comedian Tart Carlos and other artistes.

The popular Filipino band held a series of concerts in different GCC countries such as Bahrain and Dubai which also draw huge crowds.

On November 28, the much-awaited concert of popular singer-artiste Sarah Geronimo will be staged at the West End Park Amphitheatre.

The female performer rocked thousands of Filipino expatriates in Abu Dhabi in April during her “Perfect 10” world tour.

Her fans in Qatar wanted to see her on stage and have been waiting since last year.

“We will take a leave from work just to watch her,” said Janvier, a long time expatriate in Doha. “I don’t want to miss this rare opportunity.”

The concert is part of Geronimo’s Perfect 10 world tour which started in Manila, Philippines. She will be joined by artistes Ronnie Liang and Top Suzara.

Geronimo was awarded the Female Recording Artiste of the Year for 2014 at the 6th Star Awards for Music held on September 14. She had received numerous awards in the past years.

Other events and activities will be held from October such the Qatar-Philippine Azkals football match (31st) aimed at raising funds for the construction of a new Philippine School of Doha building in Abu Hamour.

Many event organisers have vowed to bring more Filipino performers in Doha in the coming months especially during the winter season.
