Gulf Drilling International (GDI), a subsidiary of Gulf International Services, has bagged the ‘Oil Field Services Company of the Year’ award, instituted by ITP Business Publishing. Mubarak al-Hajri, GDI chief executive, received the award from Ian Stokes, the ITP Group publishing director. GDI achievements included the best ever record of safety in terms of ‘TRIR’, comfortably exceeding the industry average global ‘TRIR’, the highest revenue and net profit in GDI’s history, operational performance above industry average with all rigs on contract for the full year at 100% utilisation with excellent downtime record.
