QIIB has successfully launched four major information technology (IT) and business projects with Gulf Business Machines (GBM), the leading provider of IT and business solutions in the region.
The underlying business objective of these initiatives is to enhance the overall customer experience at the bank.
The four projects are the provision of a new datacenter and an upgrade to the network, new systems for production and disaster recovery, a middleware platform to connect all systems and business channels and a feature-rich mobile banking application, a bank spokesman said.
“There are few companies in Qatar that can provide end-to-end, best-of-breed IT solutions with strong implementation capacity, including after sales support,” Quan Croxford, head of IT at QIIB, said.
GBM Qatar was able to offer expertise that designed and implemented systems that allowed the bank to enhance the services, without interruption to the business, he said, adding QIIB was very much satisfied with their execution and the outcome of the projects.
GBM worked closely with QIIB to deliver systems that would best meet all of the bank’s IT and business objectives. The systems were designed to better cater to the needs of QIIB, by offering improved performance and increased functionality and efficiency to all end users.
“Building these systems was critical to QIIB’s ability to maintain a competitive edge in the market place and increase its customer base,” according to Soubhi Chebib, general manager, GBM Qatar.
The IT major’s professional teams implemented the best-in-class technologies that have excellent customer facing capabilities on time and within budget. The technologies installed provide increased performance and functionality; hence, better end-user experience for the bank’s customers, he added.
