International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) has appointed Muhannad Kamal as deputy chief executive with effect from July 2015.
Prior to this appointment, he was IBQ’s general manager with responsibilities for wholesale banking operations.
Following the resignation of Jabra Ghandour from his position as managing director, and during a transition period, Kamal will assume the responsibility for managing the bank, until the appointment of a new managing director in due course, subject to necessary approvals from Qatar Central Bank, an IBQ spokesman said.
Kamal obtained his BA in Business Administration from University of Beirut in 1978 before moving on to receive his Master’s degree in International Management (Finance) from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University in 1980.
