QNB customer care centre officials after the ISO 27001:2013 certification awarding ceremony.

The QNB customer care centre has received the ISO 27001:2013 certification, which is the latest international standard for management of information security, the bank said in a statement.
QNB said the awarding of the certificate highlights the bank’s commitment to improve its information security “in order to continue building trust and understanding” with its customers.
Developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), ISO 27001:2013 is a world-recognised and international best practice standard for information security. Organisations of all sizes in sectors including banking and finance, oil and gas, and business and government, adopt the ISO standards.
In order to be certified, QNB customer care centre fulfilled requirements related to the establishment, maintenance, and implementation of its information security management system. In addition, the centre met ISO 27001:2013 requirements for the appraisal and handling of information security risks.
The centre’s telephone banking facilities allow customers to save time by performing many of their banking transactions from home, while maintaining high-level of security. The centre has highly-trained customer care representatives, who are available anytime for assistance, QNB said. As part of the certification process, the centre underwent a comprehensive evaluation and implementation phase, in which a complete on-site audit was undertaken by the British Standards Institute (BSI).
Once certified, organisations are subject to a three-year process, wherein their compliance is verified by yearly surveillance audits and a final re-certification audit at the end of the cycle.
QNB customer care centre is an integral part of QNB’s network of branches, ATMs and e-Banking channels, which constitute “the largest banking network in Qatar.” The centre offers customers the convenience of banking whenever they need to, without having to visit branches or offices.
