HE Sheikh Ahmed (left) and al-Mansoori: Call for cooperation and joint ventures to benefit from great opportunities.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 in Doha and the 2020 Expo in Dubai provide significant opportunities for businessmen from the two countries, said UAE Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed al-Mansoori. He was speaking on the sidelines of the Qatar-UAE business forum, currently taking place in Doha.
Al-Mansoori called upon the corporates in both the countries to cooperate and establish joint ventures to benefit from these opportunities.
He said the proposal from the business community in both countries to set up a joint business council would be discussed with those concerned.
The proposed council would have a significant role in supporting economic and trade relationship between the two countries and would promote mutual investments.
He said the forum reflected the sincere desire to develop economic and trade relationship between the two countries, pointing that the Qatar-UAE trade volume increased by 200% during the past few years.
The Emirati minister praised the development of the Qatari economy, which he said was expected to see 5% to 7% growth in the coming years. And both countries have very strong economies, he added.
Al-Mansoori, however, he warned that significant challenges in the region’s economies required hard work to maintain the pace of growth and successes, especially in the air transport and aviation sectors.
The Emirati minister emphasised on the strength of the Qatari-UAE relationship and the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to support these.
UAE ambassador Saleh Mohamed bin Nasrah al-Amri said his country was keen on supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030, a clear roadmap for Qatar’s future. He said the communication between businessmen from Qatar and the UAE would help the current infra-structure projects Qatar is undertaking in preparation for the World Cup 2022.
HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani was among the dignitaries who addressed the forum.
