Qatar Islamic Bank has appointed Abdulrahman al-Nabit as its new head of Tamayuz Banking, QIB Group CEO Bassel Gamal said.
Gamal said, “The appointment of Abdulrahman al-Nabit was part of our commitment to continuously improve the services offered to QIB’s affluent customers.
“He was a highly-talented Qatari individual, who has been with us for the past 15 years and has worked hard to reach this position and I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations and wish him well in his new role.”
QIB’s Tamayuz or “Affluent” banking segment offers premium clients tailor-made products, financial planning advisory, and first class services in exclusive Tamayuz centres with dedicated relationship managers available to handle all their needs.
Gamal said the appointment of al-Nabit was in line with the QIB’s strategy to promote local talents from within the bank. It was also part of management and the board of directors’ strategic objective to continuously increase the role of “talented and qualified” Qataris in QIB’s leadership team, he added.
For the past four years, al-Nabit has been the area manager responsible for QIB’s northern region branches network.
Al-Nabit is a senior banking executive with more than 20 years of experience, and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Qatar University. He started his career in the government sector before joining QIB as a branch supervisor in 2000. He was promoted to branch manager two years later and later became area manager in 2007.
