Digitisation of corporate sector, which ensures sustainability of a country’s economy, is both an “opportunity and threat”, according to Vodafone Qatar.
“We firmly believe digitisation of corporate entities of any size ensures the sustainability of a country’s economy,” Vodafone Qatar head (Strategic Projects and Innovation) Simone Eliantonio told the 2nd Entrepreneurship in Economic Development Forum, which concluded here yesterday.
He explained how the adoption of digital enablers can help increase the reach and optimise investments in communications channels.
“Digitisation is an enabler that helps any kind of business to thrive and prosper. It is both an opportunity and a threat: if you don’t use digital solutions to enable your business — in any industry — some competitor will soon come and be more competitive that you can be and drive you out of business,” he said.
As a telecom provider, Vodafone Qatar needs more digitally enhanced companies in its ecosystem as digital awareness creates further demand for telecom services, he said, adding the company can bring considerable value not only by providing services but also by generating new trends in the country with thought leadership.
“A true and effective digital transformation framework should touch upon three key pillars to reach its full potential and these are customer experience, business operations and business model,” he said.
