Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) has supported the “Made in Qatar Exhibition” as Diamond Sponsor of the event, which will be held from May 19 to 21 at the Doha Exhibition Centre (DEC).
Organised by the Qatar Chamber (QC), the fourth edition of the exhibition will be held under the patronage of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, in co-operation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry.
QC deputy general manager Saleh Hamad al-Sharqi, who is also head of the organising committee, signed the partnership agreement with QIMC CEO Abdul Rahman Abdulla al-Ansari at the QC headquarters.
Al-Ansari said, “This is the fourth participation of QIMC, which emphasises our faith and commitment to support Qatar’s industry sector. The Made in Qatar Exhibition renews the positive co-operation with the chamber every two years. We are keen to join hands with them in organising this event to be a great success not only for the Qatari industry but for the state of Qatar, as well.”
Aside from attracting investments in the manufacturing sector while promoting and showcasing locally-manufactured products, QIMC, which is also a key exhibitor at the event, partnered with the QC to enhance national industry through the exhibition.
“The exhibition is a good opportunity to showcase the development of Qatari products during each edition, including SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and even mega industries. It further helps exchange expertise and knowledge among exhibitors,” al-Ansari added.
Al-Sharqi noted that the exhibition “is a considerable platform to enhance the state’s strategic attitude towards national industry because it is the core of any economic development.”
“Any economic progress is drastically based on a critical factor, which is industry,” al-Sharqi said.
He added, “The exhibition is aimed at attracting more investments in the manufacturing sectors and boost the locally-made products to ease dependency on imported items. It would be also a good opportunity to encourage local companies to do their best to improve and develop their products, which would make Qatari products globally competitive.”
On the sidelines of the exhibition, a market for Qatari products will be set-up for local companies that would like to showcase and sell their products to visitors.
