International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) is again supporting this year’s MEED Qatar Projects Conference as “gala dinner sponsor”. The conference will be held in Doha from March 10 to 11 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
This year’s gala dinner, hosted by IBQ for the seventh consecutive year, will be held on March 10 and is expected to set the scene for the conference at a time when Qatar’s infrastructure projects are set to escalate to more than $30bn.
Also, the dinner will see the “Qatar Leadership Award 2015” being presented to the company that has made an outstanding contribution to the development of Qatar’s economy, infrastructure, global oil industry, and in particular, an “exceptional” recent project delivery performance in the Middle East.
IBQ managing director Jabra Ghandour said, “We are delighted to sponsor the MEED Qatar Projects gala dinner once more this year as the event reflects the sizeable investment opportunities in Qatar that make it one of the most attractive markets for doing business in the GCC region.”
He added, “With Qatar’s project market experiencing a boom in construction and real estate, IBQ has been able to support the demand for much-needed corporate banking solutions, with a strong commitment to building long-lasting relationships with its corporate customers.”
MEED chairman Edmund O’Sullivan said, “This pivotal annual MEED conference grows in importance each year as we witness an era in Qatar with massive construction contracts awarded in infrastructure, transport, energy, and utilities sectors, including the most extensive urban railway network ever seen.
“MEED’s event brings together government and business leaders to underline the immense potential for businesses in infrastructure development in Qatar in line with delivering the country’s 2030 vision and strategic priorities.” The MEED Qatar Projects Conference will feature high-profile speakers, relevant and critical business content, and the latest industry news from Qatar and the GCC, as well as future project opportunities and master plans.
Topics to be covered include the latest developments in the national development strategy, trends and opportunities in the banking and finance sector, and news about Qatar’s latest energy and infrastructure projects.
