Another new London development, The London Octopus, launched by Galliard Group and London & Bath Estates, is attracting the attention of multi-national corporations, sovereign wealth funds, private investors and large funds.

Designed by MAKE Architects, the futuristic building will stand on the busy Chiswick Roundabout where six major roads converge carrying some 300,000 vehicles per day. This is a dream location for advertisers eager to make use of the extensive LED advertising screens that will form a unique aspect of the 50m tall, 7,000sqm building.

The completed value of the development, envisaged as a new gateway for West London, is estimated at £120mn. It will comprise 4,325sqm of Grade-A office space, 550sqm of media screens (the largest in Europe), a ninth floor roof garden/restaurant and underground parking facility.

The media screens can display anything from commercial advertising campaigns for sports, airlines, tourism and luxury brands to charity promotions, cultural, educational and art images.

The project will take two years to build and will have the ambience of a luxury 5-star hotel with a double-height atrium space enclosed in glass to enable all-year round use.

Kim Gottlieb, chief executive of London & Bath Estates, said: “Prior to the official launch of The London Octopus, we have already had approaches from sovereign wealth funds and large multi-national corporations who can see the value in showcasing their various brands and businesses on the vast electronic advertising billboards.”

Stephen Conway, chief executive of Galliard Group, said: “We believe that the branding rights to the building could be sold to a third party, whilst the media screens could be either managed directly or sold or subcontracted to one of the leading outdoor media ownership groups.”
