Muntajat is participating in the ‘ChinaPlas 2014’ trade exhibition, showcasing Qatar’s chemical and petrochemical products to customers and key industry players from around the world.

This is the second time Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) is participating in the ChinaPlas trade expo, which is being held in Shanghai until April 26.

For more than 30 years, ChinaPlas has been one of the largest and most influential annual international trade exhibitions for plastics and rubber processing industries, gathering around 3,000 exhibitors and 120,000 visitors over four days.

Muntajat markets, sells and distributes nearly 90% of chemicals polymers and fertilisers produced in Qatar, including the low density polyethylene (LDPE) and the linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) marketed worldwide under the ‘Lotrène’ brand.

Conceived as the “gateway” to Qatar’s chemical and petrochemical industry, Muntajat has already begun to demonstrate added value to Qatar’s chemical and petrochemical supply chain by effectively reducing lead times and developing strong service relationships with new and existing customers worldwide.

Muntajat chief executive officer Abdulrahman Ali al-Abdulla said, “We are delighted to come back and participate in ChinaPlas 2014. When we first participated last year Muntajat was in its start-up phase, today the company has grown to become a respected global brand and our presence at Asia’s No 1 fair for plastics is a great opportunity to demonstrate that”.

“ChinaPlas presents an excellent platform for Muntajat to showcase the ‘Made in Qatar’ polymers. Our participation strengthens Muntajat’s position as a leader in the marketing and distribution of chemicals and petrochemicals and demonstrates the value proposition of Qatar’s chemical, polymer and fertiliser products to international customers,” al-Abdulla added.

On the importance of the Chinese market to Muntajat, Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari, Muntajat executive director (marketing and sales) and chairman of Muntajat BV, the international marketing arm of Muntajat, said, “China is a key market for us as its continued growth requires a reliable supply of chemical and petrochemical products. As part of its global network of offices, Muntajat BV is in the final stages of setting up its first office in Shanghai, with another office in Guangzhou to follow shortly. This expansion demonstrates our commitment to better serve the Chinese market and our customers.”

Headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, Muntajat BV recently announced the opening of five international marketing offices in Turkey, Malaysia, Jordan, Australia, and South Africa to service some 19 markets.

Muntajat BV is planning to open up to 36 local marketing offices in strategic locations and cities around the world.

Muntajat’s customer base has now been expanded to more than 6,000 worldwide. The company also managed to ship more than 9.2mn tonnes of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers to more than 120 countries.
