As a prelude to the much-awaited, sixth annual How Women Work (HWW) conference, Esther Jacobs, the ‘No-Excuse-Lady’, will bring to you an evening full of inspiration, vivacity and new energy.
In an open evening for both men and women, titled “Strive, Struggle and Shine,” Jacobs will share some of her secrets on how to realise your dreams, over and over again, and how to avoid the most commonly used excuses for not attaining your goals and dreams. The talk is scheduled at the Melia Hotel in West Bay on May 6 from 7pm to 10pm.
In both our professional and private life, we are often times held back unnecessarily, argues Jacobs: “If you look at your career dream as one whole chunk, then it seems too big to realise, you might not even know where to start.”
If you ask the Dutch author, motivational speaker and creativity expert about problems, she will say: “Problems don’t exist. Challenges do.” Her books such as What is your excuse? and What is your dream? have sold millions of copies.
Her simple idea is that there is no excuse for us to not go after our objective, goal or dream. “Raising $25 million for charity, participating in (reality TV show) Survivor, and traveling to more than 100 countries enabled me to link seemingly unrelated topics to business, communication and personal motivation,” she says, on her website, “My passion is to inspire, challenge and question.”
For almost two decades, Jacobs has helped companies, entrepreneurs and individuals to realise their dreams. She works only a few months a year and lives alternately in Amsterdam, Curacao and Miami.
Jacobs’ thought-stirring talk is in line with the theme of this year’s HWW conference, which is “Be the Change” – working to encourage women with aspirations and ambitions to realise their goals through meeting and exchanging ideas with like-minded people.
Another benefit from attending this event would be that if you buy your ticket before April 30, you will get a 10 per cent discount on your ticket for the HWW Conference with the promotional code on your e-ticket.
How Women Work believes that every woman has a voice and is committed to providing a forum for women to speak about their journeys, experiences and successes.
The sixth annual HWW conference will take place on May 20 and 21 at QBIC, the Qatar Business Incubation Centre. Tickets are on sale online through Eventbrite.com and at The One stores in Villaggio, Lagoona and Landmark malls.
