After the success of its first season, Pakistan Fashion Week Doha (PFWD) is returning with an even better and bigger show this year. A bi-annual event, the show is once again bringing an array of top fashion designers and celebrities from Pakistan’s showbiz industry to town.
The second season of PFWD fashion show will be hosted by popular anchor and actress Ayesha Sana and will feature top TV and film actors, including Hamza Ali Abbasi of Pyare Afzal (a TV serial), Ayesha Khan and Imran Abbas Naqvi.
Mercedes-Benz is the title sponsor this year. PFWD will take place between April 30 and May 1 at Doha Marriott Hotel. “We are extremely thankful to Mercedes-Benz for their title sponsorship which has rated Pakistan Fashion Week Doha among the top international fashion shows,” said Rahat Mansoor, the CEO of PFWD.
“The two-day event is the biggest fashion platform that vows to become the most sought-after and talked about fashion event in the country, where Pakistan’s top designers will showcase latest bridal, prét, lawn, semi-formal and formal collections on the ramp,” she added.
Mansoor said top Pakistani and international models will walk the ramp with the latest designs by Pakistani designers. She promised the show will be the most glamorous night in town.
Mercedes-Benz Pakistan Fashion Week is powered by ChenOne, Mytrip, Glam & Glitz, Trinity, City Exchange among other sponsors.
In this edition of PFWD, more than 20 upcoming and top fashion designers, including Deepak Perwani, HSY, Ali Zeesha and Emraan Rajput from Pakistan will be presenting collections at the show.
Ayesha Sana will host the event and the red carpet while Imran Kureishi will choreograph the show. He had also designed the first edition of the show at the same venue which was attended by a large number of members from the local expatriate communities.
PFW Doha 2015 will also feature Red Carpet on both days where Pakistan’s top celebrities will be greeted by a huge fan base in Qatar. The event will be attended by a number of diplomats, top Qatari businessmen and women and VIPs from different communities.
PFWD is introducing a new trend this time where all the participating designers’ collections will be available for purchase from PFW Doha’s official exhibiting outlets. The exhibition will start from May 2 and will end on May 4.
All our designers will be showcasing Designers’ Lawn and Fabric; Designers’ Prét and Ready-to-wears and Eid Collection will also be on sale at Bombay Silk Center at Salwa Road and PH Designs at Barwa Village.
Some of the designers participating in the show from Pakistan are Ishtiaq Afzal, Maria Rao, Ghazo Collections, Samina Shahjani, High Street by Saima Asim, Madiha Gohar, Noman & Bhiya, Tasneem Sadaf, Fashion Factory by Amna Farhan, Iqra by Iqra Saqib, Riwaj by Pink, Ph Design, D&F by Deepak & Fahad.
Held twice a year, PFW Doha has now become the most eagerly awaited event of the fashion industry in Qatar, and has continued to exceed expectations with each passing show, said the PFWD CEO.
“Our objective is to promote Pakistani fashion line to the Qatari community; and also to allow the designers to enjoy the exposure of Qatar’s untapped market,” said Rahat, who is the chief organiser of the show.
