VISIT: Sania Mirza, one of India’s most celebrated tennis players, visited Birla Public School yesterday. She was welcomed by the principal, staff and students, who had lined up at the corridors to greet her. The tennis star walked past them, waving and shaking their hands. Later, in a function in her honour, she told a student to pursue one’s passion but to first “ensure one completes basic education.” To a question on striking a balance between tennis and studies, she said that she worked hard to strengthen her skills in tennis and do well at school also. She added that tennis had taught her to bounce back after defeat and go after the goal with increased hope and determination.
