Chief of Qatar Community Police Lt Colonel Ghanim Saud al-Khiyarin and Nepalese lawmaker Muhammad Jakir Hussein recently had a meeting at Capital Security Department. The meeting was held with initiative taken by Prof Mohammad Ramzan Ali Miya, legal adviser of Nonresident Nepalese Association (NRN) — Qatar. Hussein represents United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-M) in the second Constitution Assembly (CA) of Nepal.

In the meeting, also attended by Colonel Mohammad al-Muhannadi, Hussein apprised the chief of police on the concerns of nonresident Nepalese community and requested to settle their minor legal issues in the community itself before taking them to court.

While thanking Qatar for hosting a large number of Nepalese migrant workers, Hussein requested Qatar to assist his country in tourism among other development sectors in order to further strengthen the bilateral ties. He also mentioned that his country and people are proud of Qatar for its great achievements.

Lt Colonel Ghanim Saud al-Khiyarin praised Qatar-based Nepalese community as honest and hardworking who have accomplished a great deal in building the country. He said that his department was always eager to solve every kind of problem faced by Nepalese people in Qatar.

He mentioned that the Nepalese people despite being the second largest expat community are rarely involved in criminal activities. He assured the Nepalese lawmaker that his department is always responsible for the welfare of the Nonresident community and is creating awareness programmes time and again. He also mentioned that he wished to visit Nepal in the near future.
