MAKING A POINT: Doha Bank CEO Dr R Seetharaman speaking at the seminar organised by Media Plus in connection with World Humanitarian Day.

CEO of Doha Bank, Dr R Seetharaman, has called for concerted efforts to make our planet a better place.  Inaugurating a seminar organised by Mediaplus, a local advertising and event management company in connection with the World Humanitarian Day of United Nations, Dr Seetharaman observed that the world has been facing enormous problems on account of natural calamities, disasters, global warming and climate change, geopolitical and economic issues.

The humanity as a whole should stand against all issues and face it with a positive outlook for making the world suitable for peaceful coexistence. The world is going through extreme weather conditions due to the unscientific and unethical activities of human beings.

“The world needs sustainable development with effective utilisation of resources. Our developmental action plan should uphold corporate social responsibility as well as the ecological system of the planet. Each individual has to play his role in maintaining the equilibrium of precious nature,” he remarked.

The Humanitarian Day reminds us all to do whatever possible to wipe the tears from the eyes of less privileged people who are faced with extreme poverty, lack of sanitation, pure drinking water, proper living conditions and educational facilities. “You are the change and if you are ready to recognise the importance of maintaining the equilibrium of our planet, it will go a long way in protecting our rich environment. The more you give, the more you will get,” he said.

Dr Seetharaman called on the audience to work for the welfare and peaceful coexistence of the society. “The world we live in is faced with a number of challenges and we have to overcome all issues with an open mind. Service to the humanity should be our prime aim.”
