Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday condemned the terrorist attack on a gas factory in France and said the brutal force of the terrorists must be destroyed completely with the united efforts of civilised humanity.
In a message to French President Francois Hollande, she said, “I strongly condemn the terrorist attack on a gas factory near the city of Lyon in France where one person was found decapitated and an explosion took place on Friday. This dastardly attack again shows the brutal force of the terrorists that must be destroyed completely with the united efforts of civilised humanity.”
She reiterated that the people of Bangladesh firmly stand by the friendly people of France in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism of any kind.
“We express our deepest condolence and heartfelt sympathy to you and the people of France and particularly to the near and dear ones of the victims of the terrorist attack,” she said.
Hasina reiterated her government’s stated policy of zero tolerance to terrorism and extremism. “We the civilised, democratic and secular peoples of the world will continue our fight against the evils of terror who must be identified only as terrorists irrespective of their colour, race or religion.”
Earlier, Bangladesh expressed deep shock at the cowardly terrorist attack on a gas factory near Lyon city in France, and reassured of its all-out efforts and support for fighting the terrorists together and ensuring peace and stability in the world.
“I’m shocked to learn about the cowardly terrorist attack on a gas factory near the city of Lyon in France resulting in beheading of a person and an explosion,” said Foreign Minister A H Mahmood Ali.
In a message to his French counterpart Laurent Fabius, the foreign ministry also strongly condemned this terror attack and expressed deep condolence and sympathy to the friendly people of France and especially to the members of the bereaved family.
A terrorist attack in France within three days only justifies joining hands together with greater strength to fight this absolutely violent insanity against human civilization, said the foreign minister.
