At least 10 people were killed and 15 others injured as a severe storm lashed three districts of
Bangladesh early yesterday.
Of the 10, two were buried alive in mudslide triggered by torrential rains.
In Kishoreganj district, at least four people were killed as the storm swept through Pakundia, Katiadi and Kuliarchar
sub-districts early yesterday.
The victims were identified as Hazrat Ali, 35, and his son Rijon Ali, 7, Abdul Mannan, 60, and Shital Chandra Barman, 32.
In Mymensingh, four people were killed and 15 others injured as the storm swept over Phulbaria, Trisal and Muktagachha sub-districts.
Two people were killed in a mudslide at Ujirpur barrage in Chapainawabganj district.
The storm Nor’wester usually lasts a few minutes but leaves in its trail devastating effect. It usually occurs in the month of April.
