A Chinese man was arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) through its District Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (DAID-SOTG) and P16mn worth of suspected shabu  was seized from him during a buy-bust on Sunday night.
QCPD director Chief Supt. Joel Pagdilao identified the suspect as Qiu Yuquian alias Qui, 42,  who is married and is a businessman and native of Fujian, China, and residing in  Tondo, Manila.
The DAID-SOTG head, Chief Insp. Robert Razon, said at about 10.55pm on May 3, police operatives conducted the buy-bust in front of a house along Kamias Road near Barangay East Kamias, Quezon City.
Yuquian was arrested through the help of an informant.
A policeman acted as poseur-buyer and bought from Yuquian P1mn worth of shabu.
Police discovered inside the suspect’s Toyota Camry three big Ziploc transparent plastic bags containing approximately three kilos of dangerous drugs suspected to be shabu.
The suspect will be charged under Section 5 and Section 11 Article 2 of Republic Act 9165.
Razon said the confiscated illegal drugs have a street value of P16mn.
Pagdilao said the arrest of the suspect is an offshoot of a previous arrest by the same anti-drug unit in another buy-bust, that resulted in the arrest of a couple including their minor children a few weeks ago.
