RasGas employees visiting with elderly people, learning from their experience and wisdom
RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) volunteers from the Subsurface Group paid a special visit recently to the Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care at their fun day. The volunteers had the chance to engage with the elderly in various activities, such as organising games, singing, music, and sharing laughter.
As part of the progamme, volunteers interacted with the elderly by gaining and listening to memories, mottos, and life stories as part of the “Giving the Gift of Wisdom” programme established at the foundation.
David Frye, RasGas Subsurface Group manager commented on the event: “RasGas takes great pride in its employees’ enthusiasm in engaging in different community activities. Volunteering is a life-enriching experience that makes a real difference. In our ever changing world, elderly people are increasingly insightful and can play a crucial role”.
Frye said: “RasGas continuously engages in planned activities that allow its employees to engage with people in the community in a meaningful way, opportunities exist for volunteers to share their leadership skills, talents and expertise with organisations through dedicated skills transfer and mentoring schemes”.
The Management of the Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care expressed their appreciation of RasGas Subsurface Group volunteers’ outstanding communication.
Yousef bin Mohamed al-Muftah, director of the Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care, praised such visits, which enhance the feelings of the elderly people, and their special place in the community through the ongoing communication between them and all the institutions and individuals in the state.
