HE al-Kuwari and guests look at some of the art works on display
The first of its kind exhibition showcasing around 25 intricate art works by 10 Qatari girls, under the theme “Qatari Creativity” has got underway at the Katara Cultural Village.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Tuesday by HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari. The minister later visited the various exhibition sections along with Secretary General Mubarak bin Nasser al-Khalifa, president of Katara Abdul Rahman al-Kholeifi and a number of the ministry’s officials.The exhibition is curated by notable Qatari artist Jawaher al-Mannai and organised by the Department of Youth and Culture.
The officials praised the creativity of the Qatari girls, some of whom are students at the Girls Creativity Centre and under the tutelage of al-Mannai.
Also being featured in the exhibition alongside the participating artists, as solidarity, are three creative masterpieces including a painting of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, by Qatari professional artist Hayfa al-Sada.
The exhibition aims to stimulate creativity in young and upcoming Qatari artists as well as to encourage them to enroll in the Creativity Centre in order to hone their skills.
