Khanzada: appeal
The Pakistan embassy will open a permanent medical camp on its premises for low-income workers, Ambassador Mohamed Sarfraz Khanzada has said.
Addressing Pakistani professionals at the embassy auditorium, he urged the rich among the community not to forget their needy fellow countrymen, especially those who are not in a position to enjoy the basic needs of life.
Khanzada urged the community members to come forward and open an education fund to help needy students.
“The fund will help in keeping the integrity of such families as the beneficiary will not be seen as obliged to any particular person,” he said.
He suggested organising various events like fashion shows to generate funds in this regard. “We should not forget that the majority of the Pakistani population in Qatar comprises semi-skilled and unskilled workers,” Khanzada said.
“We need to upgrade their standard of living and it is our common responsibility towards the society.”
The ambassador said large number of Pakistani girls sit at home spending their time in non-constructive activities. “We need to find out the reasons of their discontinuation of studies and provide them opportunities so that they can play their positive role in our society.”
He urged the professionals to use their forum as a think tank and come forward with suggestions.— Ashraf Siddiqui
