United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar (TPQ), has launched “Five-star service starts with me”, part of its ongoing performance management programme.
The programme, UDC said, is part of its commitment to strengthen the value of “five-star service” internally as well as towards customers, visitors and residents at The
Pearl-Qatar.
A primary focus of the programme is to increase awareness and dedication of its workforce from various levels of management to all staff members.
To demonstrate its dedication in realising this goal, UDC engaged prestigious international consulting and research company, The Gallup Organisation in a three-year commitment to conduct initiatives that will result in underscoring the company’s ethos that “five-star service starts with me”.
By gathering both staff and residents’ input, UDC in collaboration with The Gallup Organisation will devise training programmes for employees to improve their “five-star
service”.
In a recent address held at The Pearl-Qatar to more than 1,200 staff from all subsidiaries of UDC, Khalil Sholy, managing director and president, UDC, emphasised that delivery of five-star service was integral to the company’s culture and that everyone was important and mattered in the improvement and contribution towards the provision of a five-star
service.
“The Pearl-Qatar is the most glamorous address in the Middle East, not just by providing the most luxurious physical facilities and programmes, but by striving to be recognised as the best in all that we do and offer. The five star programme aims to exceed in achieving the lifestyle residents, retailers and visitors expect and should have,” said Sholy. 
“We have hired an internationally recognised company, to solicit everyone’s input and devise training programmes for us, because we are serious about transforming our corporate culture into one that is also a
premium service culture”.

The UDC staff open meeting marked the official launching of the partnership with The Gallup Organisation.
“A strategy and programme will be developed, implemented and continually updated to achieve and maintain its status as a premier five-star service provider,” UDC said.
