LuLu Hypermarket regional manager (Qatar) Mohamed Althaf handing over a cheque for QR100,000 to Ayyad al-Qahtani as other LuLu officials look on
LuLu Hypermarket Group has donated QR100,000 to charity after one of the winners in a promotion mega draw did not turn up to collect the prize money.
The amount was intended as one of the three prizes for last December’s Lulu-Live for Free promotion.  Since one of the winners of the draw held on January 2, 2011 had not claimed the prize even after repeated notices in newspapers and other media, the LuLu Hypermarket management decided in consultation with the Ministry of Business and Trade to donate the amount to Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services.
The foundation’s general manager Ayyed al-Qahtani received the cheque for QR100,000 from LuLu Hypermarket Group (Qatar) regional director Mohamed Althaf at a ceremony.
Althaf said LuLu Hypermarket Group was always at the forefront to donate  to charitable causes.
“During the last Ramadan season, LuLu donated a Mercedes Benz Car, E-200 to Eid Charitable Association.  LuLu will also come up with similar promotions for their valued customers in future as well.”
