Qatar Charity (QC) has expressed its thanks to the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee after it allocated ticket sales from a recent football match between Brazil and Egypt, estimated at $400,000, to the victims of the famine in Somalia.
QC also commended the humanitarian initiative of the Organising Committee of the Arab Games, Doha 2011, which will allocate the tickets sale of the opening and closing ceremonies as well as athletic competitions, to charities within Qatar.
Yousef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, QC’s chief executive, expressed his pride that Qatar would be hosting the World Cup Football Finals in 2022, describing it as a “historic achievement and a source of pride for people throughout the Arab world.”
Al-Kuwari also stressed the importance of supporting those affected by famine in Somalia.
