Qatar and Sudan signed six agreements following a round of official talks chaired by HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sudanese First Vice-President Ali Othman Mohamed Taha here yesterday.
The two countries signed an agreement for the establishment a joint Sudanese-Qatar business council, a memorandum of understanding in the field of mining between the Sudanese Ministry of Minerals and Qatar Mining Company, an agreement on co-operation in banking between the Bank of Khartoum and Al-Fardan Exchange Company, a commercial agency contract between Ajyal Medical Company and Qatar Pharma, minutes of a meeting between the Ministry of Agriculture and Hassad Company and a memorandum of understanding between the Committee in charge of public sector facilities and Hassad agricultural company.

The talks were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Heir Apparent. The talks dealt with means of developing bilateral relations in various fields, especially the economic and investment sectors. 
Separately, President of Sudan Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir met the Heir Apparent at the guest house here yesterday.
At the outset of the meeting, the Heir Apparent conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani to President Bashir, wishing more progress and prosperity to the Sudanese people.
The Sudanese president reciprocated Emir’s greetings.
Talks dealt with means of enhancing bilateral relations besides a number of regional and international issues. The meeting was attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying the Heir Apparent and Sudanese ministers. 
Later, the Heir Apparent inaugurated the new headquarters of Qatar National Bank (QNB) in Khartoum, in the presence of the Sudanese first vice-president.
The Heir Apparent toured the new headquarters building, and was briefed about QNB’s various branches in Sudan and the projects which it has financed.
He then inaugurated the Musheireb project and sales centre at the Qatari Diar  headquarters here. He was briefed on the integrated model building.
Khartoum governor, Dr Abdul Rahman al-Khider delivered a welcome speech, during  which he praised the relations between Qatar and Sudan.
He hailed the efforts being exerted by the Qatari Diar to speed up the completion of these projects. 
Sheikh Tamim also launched the Qatar Museums Authority (QMA)’s project in Sudan, which aims to develop archaeological research and exploration and protect the archaeological heritage in the river Nile and the northern states.
He then unveiled the foundation stone for the global Khartoum slaughterhouse, al-Baraka poultry project and Qatar Company for Meat and Livestock Trading (Mawashi)’s project for the production of forage-livestock.  
The Heir Apparent also attended the closing session of the 3rd Sudanese-Qatari Economic Forum held at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum yesterday under the theme: ‘Towards Strategic Partnership’.
The session reviewed areas of co-operation between the two countries and the outcome of the 3rd Sudanese-Qatari Economic Forum.
 Earlier on arrival in Khartoum yesterday, the  Heir Apparent and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by the Sudanese first vice-president besides a number of Sudanese ministers and senior officials.  
In the evening the Heir Apparent left Khartoum wrapping up a one-day working visit to Sudan.

Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, an international leader in sustainable development, has delivered the first of eight high-end residential towers in its mixed-use Mushaireb project, situated in the heart of downtown Khartoum, The completion of the first executive phase of the project was announced during a celebration marking the launch of the project’s sales centre in the presence of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
